The governor is acting erratically on my 195? 8N. It is a 6 cyl conversion by Funk with a Ford 6 cyl 226 ci 90 hp car truck engine. I am trying to identify the governor so I can find a replacement/repair parts. The governor is belt driven and mounts on the right hand side. There is a tag on the top of the governor, but it only has a line of numbers and a too faint to read series of lower case letters? along the bottom of the tag. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a way to send pictures or I would post one.

They used Industrial motors in the conversion that were more than likely equipped with a Ford made governor when new. I dont know what one looks like but I am putting a V-8 60hp into a N Ford and have been keeping my eye out for any type of belt drive governor that might work. Caterpillar used one on the pony engines but I would like to find one thats Ford to match. There is a guy that comes here often named Dumb Logger pretty shure he has one of these Funk 6cyl conversions maybe he can be of some help to you

Unless someone has changed the governor with something else, the Funk conversion originally used the standard 8N governor bolted to a Funk adapter mounting plate. The gear was pressed off and a pulley pressed on to the shaft. You should be able to use regular 8N governor repair parts.
