i replaced the bushings and spark advance on my 43 2n. the shaft is very tight and hard to turn. should it be this way?

Hey Rodger, I used a brake cylinder hone on the larger one and did as Claus said and turned it by hand for awhile to loosen up the smaller one. It was still tight when I installed it but seems to be OK after about 15 hrs of operation.

The bushings come slightly undersized on the ID. You need to ream them or you could work the shaft back and forth in the bushing to get the bushing to fit properly.
