Have a question regarding carry-alls. After these are mounted to the 3-point, is all of the weight that is loaded on them being supported by the ground until it is raised, or when it is mounted is it off the ground? If you have to raise them before moving around, does this mean tha you have to keep the pto engaged while the tractor is moving? It sounds like they are really nice to have from what I have read in the archives. Thanks

It depends on the design but most of them I have seen will sit on the ground, which is what I think works best. No need to keep a lot of weight on the hydraulics when not necessary. When you raise them, most folks would keep the pto/hydraulics active with weight on. If yours doesn't leak down very fast, I guess you could disengage the pto. With a load on, I prefer to have constant control of the pto.

Made mine from one of those haulers you see behind everyones truck, just welded the brackets on to make it a 3 point hitch(still works on the truck if need be). Mine never touches the ground, even all the way down. Works great, can even mount a double wide chair on it so we can take a joy ride around the place.

Actually I do not live there, just Bastrop county. It is the nearest town though.
