Popster, have you been in one of these stores lately? Looks like a junkyard. Nothing where it should be, most stuff out of stock, and salespeople who can't tell one end of a tractor from another. They might be better on line but I only go in there when I absolutely must.
They have lost most of my $$ I go to local guys who can offer advice and parts.

yea yea,, i totally agree with you,,, since the take over or whatever ya want to call it the "quality" pun intended, has gone south, they have hardly any tractor parts, the stores are turned upside down and the help like ya said are use less, if they dont have a # from a catalog they have no idea what you are talking about,,, we have 3 of them within 50 miles of us and have been to all of them,, they are all the same,,, thank god we also have a tsc within driving distance ,,, my 1 1\2 cent

Tom,

I was trying to find Central Tractor to get a price on a KingCutter finish mower. In the archives a few folks mentioned that they had a decent price and could ship. I noticed that as of last April folks were trying to find contact info for Central Tractor. When I found this site and contact info I thought I would post it. I also requested a catalog online. The nearest satore is about 2 1/2 hours from me.

Thus far the closest and best tractor store for me has be Don B on 8N ;-)

When the 'Quality' went in the name, it seemed to leave the building! We had a Big Bear store for decades, it fell apart that last decade, useless. Then CT took over, & it was great! Added on a warehouse, stocked to the ceiling, they sold record inventory!

A year later Quality took over, & they decided to close three stores a year, this one was the first to go. Thanks a bunch, 'Quality'.

From the sounds of it, I really am not missing that much, plus as they sold out the store I got some good deals, they got down to a 70% discount at the end....

Popster, OK I gotcha now. I looked at the finnish mowers there and thought the deck looked a bit light. I guess it would be ok if you don't hit anything. Friend of mine hit a stump or root and the deck did bend. Just my 2 cents
