Any auger that fits a catagory one three point will work. Everybody from Northern to your local farm/ranch will have at least one. Prices will vary wildly depending on new/used and how many bits come/you buy with it. If you wind up with one ask me how to store it so you can get it on and off by yourself.
Your mileage may vary

Hook the middle connection first, the one that would go to the top link if you used a top link, which of course you don't with a PHD. That makes it much easier.

Hang it by a chain or strong rope from a rafter and back the tractor right up to it to attach. I originally used a chain over a rafter and a bolt with fender washers to connect the ends of the chain under the PHD. Works just fine.

Hope this helps..... ..... .Ed

"ifn I had that much room in the shed I'd buy another tractor"

find a place where it will be out of the way
dig a hole
leave it in the hole
put the lower arms on something solid like cord wood
done right you never have to lift it
want to get fancy you could put a concrete tube in the hole an fill the outside
Your mileage may vary

Sounds like a good reason to get another tractor with rear boom, so you can pick up PHD and put it on tractor A. Explain that to she who must be obeyed.Beats digging a bunch of holes in the floor. Hope you get good mileage out of that suggestion there BJ.

using a hole inna the ground to store your post-hole digger. Beats jerry riggin a wobbly stand or the ol'Armstrong method. Summ times yer to closse to the ground to see the hole...er...trees to see the forest..... ..Dell
