Thanks to everyone for past help. Here is another problem. Our 8N is leaking oil around the hyd. pan. We thought no problem so we bought a gasket and proceed to attempt to remove the pan. We of course found out that the pump is attached to the pan. Is there any easy way to replace this gasket? Thanks.

It's only a little harder than you think.

Remove the PTO shaft. Make sure you have a few of the pump mounting bolts in place, becasue the PTO shaft is all that's holding the pump up right now. Once the PTO shaft is out - ten minutes work - you'll be able to drop the pump easy.

When re-installing the pump, remove the round inspection covers and make sure that the end of the control linkage re-engages with the socket in the control valve crank. You may need to adjust the touch-control linkage after the pump is in and tight.

When re-installing the pump, make sure that each securing bolt has a washer under the head, and be cautious in your tightening. The pump body/base is aluminum and over-tightening the bolts may crack the flange, leading to a leak.

I might add that the pump will not drop directly down when it is removed. You have to pull it backwards slightly to disengage the pump housing. Try to force it directly downward and you'll crack it. My $.02
