I have a 8N which had low oil pressure but now has none. I checked relief valve and pressure guage they seem to be ok. What would most likely be the problem ? Mains or pump. Can you get to the oil pump by removing the front axle assembly and dropping engine base ? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks Phil

Thanks for the info Zane. I have another problem.
When I drained the radiator to get ready to drop the engine base I discovered about a cup of oil in the coolant.

What are the possible troubles ?

The most common cause of the loss of oil pressure in the N engine is caused by the oil pump pickup tube coming loose from the inlet of the oil pump. The oil pump is part of the front main bearing cap. The hood and tank and the whole front end needs to be removed so that the oil pan can be lowered.
Sometimes you can tell if the pickup tube is loose by removing the oilpan drain plug and seeing if the tube is loose. Sometimes the solder connection can be loose enough to cause the pump ot draw in air and loose it's prime and not be detectable at the drain plug.

ZANE, << Sometimes you can tell if the pickup tube is loose by removing the oilpan drain plug and seeing if the tube is loose.>>

Yes! I stuck my finger up looking for metal fillings (during an oil change) and the Tube
assy fell into the Pan. Hmmm. I dropped my pan without removing Rad etc
