A while back there was a thread on the topic of turf friendly front tires. I mentioned using motorcycle tires - mine are finally out and about - I've been working on the tractor a bit - and I thought I'd post a pic of how they look. The tires are Continental K102 4.00-19 and cost me $29.95 each. They look good, turn good, and have a 130MPH rating, but since the rears are rated at slightly less MPH I have to control myself. The tractor itself is almost done. I need to do the logo's and secure the rear lighting wires and probably chase a couple of leaks but other than that I'm pleased with it.

They look pretty good. I use space saving spares on my 2N. Had to drill holes, and put in some studs, but they work well...and they were FREE! The right price for me. Bob

They do look good.

If anyone wants tires that are wider yet, 8N hubs can be used on a 9N / 2N. The 6x16 8N rim would allow you a wide range of tires types.

The tires aere rated 575lbs meaning 1150 total.
The front with me and full of fluids is unlikely to exceed 1050lbs. One hundred pounds may be a small margin of error but everything I do tends to reduce weight on the front rather than increase it and I expect there is a considerable safety margin.

According to the user's manual, the front has 800# on it as delivered from the factory, all fluids, but no weight in/on tires. Weight rating should be on the sidewall. FWIW

Nice 8N! Now you need some turf savers on the rear. Get an extra set of wheels and have a set for the turf and one for the dirt.

Great idea on the front turf friendly tires, would have never thought of that myself, horsepower rating is a plus. Better wear down the tread on the rears cause they don't look to friendly. It is a beautiful machine!!!!! !!!
