I'm finally putting the finishing touches on my 46 2N. I had the tractor rewired by a mechanic friend, but I left the headlights for last. Now I can't remember how to wire them. Could anyone advise me how to wire them and the switch? I don't see them on the wiring diagram in the FO4. Also, I have 10 gauge wire...is that the right size? One more question...I don't know if the bulbs I have work, are replacements available?
Thanks in advance, Rick

10 ga is what I used. I've been told (on this board) that 12 ga would have been good enough.

Rick,

I just got done W/ my '41. I got a harness and switch from Don, but you can maake one just as easy.

There is one wire that runs up the left (port) side of the hood, clipped to the top side of the lip at the bottom inside of the hood. I ran my lead up over the tank, and zip tied it to the cross braces. The lead branches off at one light and runs over to the other side to the other one. Make sure to tie them to something (the radiator sides?) to keep them out of the fan. I also ran a ground out of each light and hooked it to each headlight mounting plate.

Back towards the dash, I cut the lead about 6" foreward of the dash and put in a quick disconnect. Much easier to remove the hood that way.

The lead runs back from the disconnect to one of the screws on the switch. Then run a small jumper to one of the contacts on the starter switch.

I don't know about the guage, but 10 should do it. Don has the bulbs, both in 6 and 12 volt.

Hope this helps!

Mikey
