As I drove to church again this Sunday I passed this 12 acre spread for sale in town just 2-3 mins from my house. I kept peering back at the field (about 600 feet off of the road, I saw what appeared to be a N) - I have observed this "N" back there for quite sometime but I have never had the chance to look at it.

Well, that day came today. As I drove up to the right side of the tractor, from the front, I saw what type of pitiful shape this rusted beast actually was. The 8N was serial number 219633. The sheetmetal was rusted out in some parts, (most parts) haha, 12V conversion with alternator, no battery, no sediment bowl (directly from tank to carb), no air pipe for carb, Ford Script hood. seat/spring rusted, Oil and Ammeter broken and cracked out, wiring was poor. front bumper was custom-iron, front tires were car/truck tires, rear tires were turf tires, rims were rusted out and missing 2 nuts.

Overall, the tractor was in poor cosmetic and probable elecrical and engine shape. Could not ascertain any additional info. Was thinking of finding out if they want to "get rid of it" -
Should I spend my time looking to this or is reserved more for the "experts" or retirees????

Regards,
Andy

Andy, a friend of mine found a 52 8n buried in mud with no right wheel. When I saw I thought no way. He worked all winter, and the tractor turned out to be a real beauty. Lots of replacement part and overhaul. By the way he was given the tractor.

Just depends on you, Andy. I found one like that and bought it for $500. Made me very happy, but I consider it a total restoration. The parts alone will be worth a lot, and you would have another just for parts. Have you got room to store it? Michael Az

I would try to get it for the parts. Offer to haul it off. If they dont go for it I wouldnt spend any money but I would offer the new owner the same.
