Has anyone got a pic or tell me the preferred
way of attaching limiter chains from tractor to
hog. I started to hook on dog ears on rear end housing but was not sure. Thanks ! 8N402

Oh my - I had to fix the 8N I bought a few months ago. The casting ahead of the spring was broken and bent the rods inside the case. If the hog gets a lot of down pressure on the back of it it could break this casting on yours. Personally I think the top hole is too risky. I would go for the 2 on the outside of the case that has no relation with the draft control. Just my opinion.

Question Ed...

I see the diagram shows the limiter attached to the top holes of the top link. I know that the 8N had the three hole top link, but I seem to remember reading on this message board that the top hole should not be used. The posts regarded something about using that hole for anything but the cultivator it was intended for messed up the draft control.

I could be wrong and rely on the members of this fine board to add information where needed.

I remember that too. A lot of guys talked on that topic. I can't seem to find it in the archives. I think Zane had good insight on it.
