Last week was good n bad. Spent a few days at my place 170 miles away. Got out the 2N and had the two daughters drivin the N. (not at the same time) The oldest 16 and youngest 12. They took to it like I did as a youngster. Hard to get them off. Later I spent some time hoggin. I was just about done and decided I needed to clear some heavy stuff. I read someone say, if you can run it over, you can hog it. Well it must've been too thick. The 2N came to a stop - got stuck in two gears. Got that fixed and PTO would not disengage. Back at the garage I found the ORC innerds were wore out. PTO shaft does not wobble. Must be somethin else. I guess it may be time to open the hydraulics. No "Zane Thang" yet - it's on the need list.

I hope that you have not twisted the PTO shaft in front of the hydraulic pump. If you have you are in for a big job of getting that twisted shaft out of the tractor. The twisted spline will not go through the pump spline and this can get into a big job of cutting off the front end of the PTO and the grinding it smooth so it will come out through the rear of the tractor like it is supposed to do.
It may be necessary to break the tractor in front of the rear end so you can get the front part of the PTO shaft cut off. It will be twisted between the pump spline and the PTO coupler. That may be why you can't get it out of gear.
If the bush hog is hung up on something this will make it impossible to get it out of gear too but if you have it freed and in the barn I would think it is probably twisted.

I hope not!
