It feels like forever but slowly, I am reassembling. I ordered a gasket set and I am ready to put the head back on. The head gasket that I got is making me nervous. It has three layers, thin metal, maybe aluminum on top and bottom and what looks like normal gasket material in the middle. I don't take the metal off do I? Also, everything I have heard makes me think that I should not use any gasket compound on the head, right? Finally, what is the correct ft/lbs torque for the head bolts? thanks for your help. Chuck

#1 NO on the removal of metal

#2 Nothing on the head gasket

#3 50-55 lbs on stud nuts. 65 to 70 lbs on bolts.

Be sure and tighten in 3 stages per tightening sequence Fig. FO 26 in FO-4 manual
