I have had my 49N for over a year now. I have rewired her and changed the axle pivot pin,but other than normal maintenance thats about all I have had to do. Yesterday the unbeleivable happened! She started ran for about 30 seconds and quit. First time that has ever happened. I checked her out and the sparkies looked real weak so I guess a good connection cleanig and tune up is the thing to do. I was out and saw a 5 foot "bushhog" for sale It was painted caterpillar yellow so I could not tell what brand it is the deck is kind of beat up and has a 4" square patch welded on the top. I wiggled the shaft and the gear box appears to be tight with good seals (no grease leaking) Around here used hogs are not normally found unless they are nothing but scrap iron. What would be a fair price to offer on this. I was thinking somewhere between $100 and $150. What do you guys think?

You said it ran about 30 seconds and died. Mine did that last week. I unscrewed the carb drain plug and there was no gas reaching carb. Come to find out rust had clogged the little snorkel that goes up in the gas tank. Blew it out with air, then took off tank and emptied out about a pint of rust. Flushed it out with water, then let it thoroughly dry. I used a rust treatment, and let it dry. It hasn't died since...:o)

Woodsman - you mentioned that you used a rust treatment. Can you explain?
What kind?
Inside the gas tank?
Did you just pour it in?
What does it do?

Tnx, Boogity
