I was bushhogging Friday evening, smelt a little anti-freeze, saw a little steam, then she blew the top out of the radiator. Then I found the broken fan belt. When I repair it I plan to install a temp gauge. Where have you 9Ners put the gauge? Do you cut a hole in the aluminan dash? I have oil press gauge on one side and ampmeter on the other. Do you recommend a mechinal or electric sender? Be glad to hear your advice

My dash was already busted up so put it there. I used mechanical one, took the petcock out of the side of the block and the tip threaded right in. Did that 7 years ago with no problems.

I would not destroy the dash and ruin any restoration efforts in the future. I would make a bracket and install it somewhere you can see it and that way it can be removed for restoration if so needed... Good luck

Run the puke tube out where you can see when the brown overflow starts. Made it the first 60 years with a gauge :)
