I am rebuilding my carb. on the 49 8N I have. I had to drill out the Idle Jet.The rebuild kit from NH dealer had several jets in this kit.
Question-Can anyone tell me which jet is the idle jet? I have narrowed it down to two,one has a slite larger hole than the other, not sure which one to use.I had four jets left-over from the kit when finished(except for the idle jet). Small hole or larger hole? There is only a small difference between the two. And I have read the Archives. Your help is appreciated

I just did mine and had to drill out the jet too. I let my set for awhile. When I got the kit (from Don @ just 8N's) I had to think for a minite.
The largest one is the main jet, the smallest is the economizer jet and the last is the idle. The idle has threads that are almost the same diameter as the head. My kit only came with three jets. You might try calling Don had have him measure a idle jet for you. Hope this helps.
