Yes it was the bendix, and Dave I have pull started the 8N in the past, wasn't thinking last night when you said tow start. I was thinking about the starter and was wondering how you tow start the starter, brain fart I guess. Duh is what my Dad would have said to me.

I read on this site yesterday to look for raw fuel at the carb. intake. This sounded funny to me cause the float is supposed to shut the fuel off when the carb. is full, right?

We'll yesterday before the starter went out, I had alot of fuel at the intake . I also wonder if the backfiring could be ignition problems.

We'll thanks Guy's you all are a great help.
I wish I had this PC in my shop so I wouldn't have to run back inside everytime I had a ?.

Thanks again

Glad my thoughts may have helped. This is great site and like yourself, a computer in the shop could come in handy and with the oil & grease on my fingers, the keys would never stick.
