Yesterday, the South Carolina secretary of state issued a warning about some false charities that have already started calling for donations. This may be happening in other states also.

The names are official sounding, and the person will ask for money to help victims of the WTC and Washington DC disasters.

Many will want to help out, but be careful who you give your money to!

It's a shame that there are vermin out there that are willing to prey on generous people at a time like this.

GOD Bless America and may he give us Victory!

Yeah, personally I'm sticking with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army for my donations. You know the money will be used effectively by both groups.

Just like the vultures who raised gas prices within an hour after the tragedy. Wholesale prices DID NOT increase.

To her credit, the State Attorney General of Michigan got the Wayne County (Detroit) Sheriff to start ticketing the gougers. She is now prosecuting a number of gas station owners for violating the Consumer Protection Act of Michigan and after her announcement prices returned to pre tragedy levels at all stations in the area.
