Can anyone tell me how that you keep the grass and weeds from wrapping around the pto and the drive shaft for the bush hog? I have the plastic sleeve on it but it just spins. It is real aggravating it getting all wrapped with grass it slings everywhere and all over me too.I do not have the pto gaurd on it.

Thanks a million
Robert

I've never had a problem while bushhogging, however when running a sickle bar mower I have wrapped up grass on it instantly and had to stop and cut it off with my pocket knife. I took a piece of heavy conveyor belting about 2' square and cut a circle out of the top center edge and hung it from the lift arms close to the tractor. That rides over any grass sticking up and push's it down below the PTO shaft. It worked well for me for many years.

I had a similar problem and determined that most plastic sleeves have small chains attached that can be run over a lift arm or brace of the hog to keep the sleeve from turning which stops the wrapping. I rigged such a deal with a snap and a dog chain and it works for me. HTH Steve 8N 169302
