What should the voltage be from the alt. I have a 12 volt system and have a voltmeter installed.I removed the pos. cable at the battery and checked the voltage with a Fluke Dig. meter, was reading about 14.5-14.9 volts. If this is too high what can I do to lower. Get a dropping res. or what.

I also wonder how that you adjust the fuel mixture. I have some dark colored plugs. to lean or rich?

Thanks for your help
Robert

According to Delco Remy, the voltage regulators are set between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. An extenal resistor in the sense line would raise the voltage not lower it.. Happy Motoring

I would check the voltage with the battery connected and tractor running. Ideal voltage is 13.7 volts. Anything over 15 volts will start to boil your battery. This will shorten the life of you battery dramatically. There is adjustment on the carb for fuel mixture. I'm not an expert on these. Someone else will have good information on this.
