My wife and I went to the Inman Ga. farm heritage day near Inman Ga. this weekend. Although I have had my 8N for 24 years, this is the first antique engine and tractor show I have attended. It was great!!!. There were a lot of old hit & miss engines, old FarmAlls, John Deers, Olivers and others. I was surprised there were not many old Fords but there were a few. I saw about 4 8Ns, 2 9Ns and a couple of NAAs. I saw a real nice 1974 Ford 4000 for sale that had been totally restored and rebuilt ($7500.00) If it had been a 2 or 3000 I might have been interested in buying it. There were some old antique cars and trucks as well. There were many other great displays and demenstrations, too many to mention. My wife is totally disabled due to a brain tumor but she had a great time also. I was pretty well worn out from pushing her around in her wheel chair but the atmosphere was great and I didn't notice I was getting a good work-out. (She wants to know when the next antique tractor show is going to be and if we could go.)Anyway, I just wanted to share my joy with everyone on this board especially after the tragic events of last week. Have a good Day, Rick(Ga)

Rick: I too enjoyed the Inman show. It is one of the finest in the country and put on by Rick Minter who asks only donations from those attending to help pay the rent. Its a hard row to hoe. I was supposed to display my '52 8n I restored a year ago(see this boards pics) but I had unavoidable conflicts. Minter did run my story in his show program "Why I love old Tractors" and I was humbled but felt bad that I didn't get to show my "iron." Everyone should remember this show next year.

Hi, I think I saw you there and you were doing trojan work pushing that chair over that ground. Maybe you can get a golf cart for next year. My wife, who usually views my interest in tractors with some disdain, got pretty enthused about it and said that we would have to bring our Ford NAA next year and show it. Did you notice how friendly everyone was. Not one sourpuss in the group. Did you see that guy get that 1903 Pattin engine running? Totally an awesome piece of equipment.

Rick, there are a couple of publications that list locations and dates of shows. One, "Steam and Gas Show Directory" has listings all over the U.S., Canada, Australia, England and the Netherlands. There are 6 others listed in Georgia yet this year. I don't know if any are close to you. They are: Sunbelt Ag Expo, in Moultrie-Oct 16-28; Georgia Antique Eng. Club, in Calhoun- Oct 19-20; Kellers Country Weekend in Savannah-Oct 20-21; Georgia Antique Engine Club, in Whitesville-Oct 27; Mule Day, in Calvary- Nov. 3; and Rattlesnake Round-up, in Whigham-last Saturday in January, 2002. Neighboring states also have some listings.
I go regularly from Michigan to Ohio and Indiana and have also gone to Tennessee and Minnisota for the F/FCA (Ford/Fordson Collectors Assoc.) annual shows. Hope that helps. Enjoy.
