I am trying to remove the lift shaft from my 48 8n. I have the lift cover apart, the lift arms off and now the manual tells me to remove the lift shaft. The problem seems to be that the splines in the center of the shaft, for the ram arm appear to be hitting the lift shaft bushings. Is this somthing I have to press out? thanks, Andy.

Mine required a 30 ton press and an incredible amount of heat from a huge torch tip to come out of the arm that the hydraulic piston pushes against. And it also pushed out one of the bushings as well with the central spline.
