Since replacing the exhaust manifold I have noticed that it leaks around the clamp. Is there supposed to be a gasket or something in there. I just mouneted it metal to metal.

Phil

You can make a gasket out of steel wool and it works great.

There's an up and a down to the clamp. If your clamp is upside down it will leak. HTH Steve 8N 169302

Phil,
Dig an empty beer can from behind your neighbors shop (grin) and cut out a 2" wide by 6" long strip.

Wrap it around the exhaust joint before you put on the clamp.

One of our great board members mentioned this about 6 months ago and it works like a charm!

Back in the good? old days when gasoline was loaded with lead and god knows what else 'n exhausts didn't leak. The lead and carbon and etc would build up in that area and self-seal. Now you have to resort to cans, silicone, and epoxy.
