MANIFOLD VACUUM; HOW MUCH?

I am considering installing an adapter to measure vacuum at the intake manifold. The casting appears to have a spot to drill and tap a hole for it, much the same as on Ford automobile engines. Does someone know what proper vacuum would be for 1950 8N ? Also, is there a place other than manifold to measure? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, BOB8N
