I am currently rebuilding the top end of my 9N. I was installing the new valve train and one of the valve rotator cups fell off and went right down the oil gally and into the crankcase.

So I guess that I will be removing the oil pan tonight to retrieve the sucker (and the magnet I lost in there trying to get it out) Ha. Guess I am gonna do the crank seals while I am in there. Lesson number one, stuff a rag into the oil holes when you are doing valve work.

I hate it when I do that :-o

Joe

As long as you have the pan off might as well rebuild the oil pump and check the bearings. How was the compression. After a while you do run out of things to check in there. Been there done that. Poorer because of it.

Isn't it one of Murphy's Laws that nothing is as easy at it looks? I think it may be the Law of Cumulative Propensities, where one thing leads to another.
