Actually I have been at home today and not at work in the office.

All I did was respond to a couple of posts that seemed to indicate something I didn't think was right and I get a nice response telling me I am "uptight" and "feeling guilty".

Thanks a lot for putting me in my place. I have no idea where my mind was. Guess I was out of line in my response, it must have been too nasty.

Sal

In my opinion there isn't any benifit to run Dex-Cool. As a factory fill in a new vehicle it extends service life to five years before a flush is needed, plain ole Ethylene Gycol is good for three years. Manufactures also say after the first five year go-round that Dex-Cool needs to be flushed at three years too. To me it doesn't justify the cost.

Thank Wayne. I guess I'll stick to the norm 50/50 and watch my leaks. As a kid I had a dog who died from licking leaking anti freeze on the driveway and I guess I'm just kind of paranoid about it now. Thanks for the help.

I have read in some of my Old Car magazines that it has a tendency to find leaks easyer in older engines.

What is dex-cool?

I use a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze coolant, and I am also in northern illinois, where it does get "freeezing" cold and I have not had any problems in my 2N.

Whoever it was makes a good point, it is a family forum and there is no need for it.
