My shredder chunked a blade this weekend.
I have bought 2 new blades and bolts to go with.
Any advice on how to remove the old bolts and
replace the blades?
Howse model 500.

I replaced the blades on my 13 yo HYCO which is made by Howse with no trouble at all. I just borrowed a big enough socket and breaker bar from the neighbor, added a cheater to break it loose and unscrewed the nut. Shoulder bolt had to be tapped down to loosen it, but no problem. HTH

Since you bought new bolts I'd cut the old off with a torch or cut off saw. Most of the time they are just too must trouble to unbolt with out heating it with a torch anyway.
Bottom line do what is the easiest for you. You already did a smart thing buying new bolts.
