I assume this means that your hydraulic lift does not work. Did the lever work in the past? I'd start by removing the shift lever by unbolting the lever plate and removing it from the casing. Then check to see if the lever is frozen on the plate. If it moves ok then I'd block the clutch down. Then reach inside (motor not running please)and see if you can move the shaft that the lever interfaces with fore and aft. If not, see if you can spin the PTO shaft by hand at the back and try it again. Report results back here and someone will know where to go next. Good luck. Don

I was using my brush hog and disengaged the pto and it would not re-engage. The pto shaft does turn fine. The lever will not move back to the engaged position -Thanks,

I had a similar experience during hoggin. Mine won't disengage. I hit some heavy stuff and jammed things up. Now I cannot disenge my PTO. Dr Zane indicated that I probably twisted my PTO shaft in front of the hydraulic pump. If this happens, you need to cut the shaft off in fornt on the pump. If you can't remove your PTO shaft, this is what happened.
