Bought a 47 2N/8N ? awhile back. Heres my question- engine number is 8N37014, side casting near starter says J107, axle housing stamped 2N4015 A2 date 1-27-47, Govenor model 9NA, Head 9N6050B, lift arms 9N543.

Its a 3sp. with a sherman trans, front mount dist.
Has 2N style rear hubs and 8N style front hubs.

Could this be one of the last 2Ns/first 8Ns or do you think its just a 2n that had a block replaced with an 8N at some time?
Not that it matters. Im just curious of what people with more knowledge on this than I do might think.
Thanks

Sounds like a hybrid to me...a 2N with a replacement engine out of an 8N. I've seen 8Ns with much earlier serial numbers than yours with 8N hubs and 4 speed trannies.
