Has anyone had any experience using a 110 Volt genenator on N-serises PTO for emergency electrical power or DC welder? Just wondering if that might be another way to use "Henry" this winter.

If you are looking for a PTO Generator, there are all sorts of sources around the net and locally.
They will start in the $2000 range for appx. 8.5 kilowatt units and go up from there.
I have never seen a unit that was designed for PTO speeds over 1000rpm and most are designed for regular old 540rpm. The only 1800rpm gennys I know of are standy diesel rigs...

With the horsepower of the N you are limited in the size unit you will be able to run effectively...

Flash..... ...Its been a while since PTO operated electric generators were asked about, but you still might find something in the N-Board "archives" at the top of the page. Do a search.

If'n I remembers correctly, new PTO operated electrical generators are in the $3000 price range. Problem is PTO is 540 rpm and generators are 1800 rpm devices. Unless you come across one very cheep, general consenses is get a regular engine/generator set..... ....Dell
