I read the post below about coating a cement shop floor. I also live in upstate NY. I just finished cementing the floor of my new barn. I want to use something on the floor but I agree all the paints eventually peel up. Does anyone know what they use in those big warehouses where the cement looks like its wet. Its, real smooth and it just sort of wears away eventually. It looks like maybe poly urethane or some kind of clear epoxy.

I work in a boiler plant and every summer after we get all the routine maintenance done we strip the floors and put down a couple of coats of good non-slip floor wax. The ceiling lights reflect off the floor. Very pretty and holds up well. Also easy to sweep and clean.

Richard be sure to get an expert opinion like a concrete speciality business coatings before you paint your floor.I painted one with an epoxsy paint, and at certain temperatures or humidity it would sweat badly and get very slippery. It would get wet and messy.I like the regular light broom finish, but you can get what you are looking for from companies like Thorough Coat and Thorough Seal.Good Luck..Let us know how it does...R.M.
