Engine problem: Have just completed a tune up and rebuild on a '40 9N including new carb. Set timing according to F0-1 manual. She still sputters a bit under load or in 3rd on a flat. Help?

Wheel Problem: One of the rear wheels is rusted to the point that the Calc.Chloride is leaking from rim, around valve stem. Anyone know of a source for used rear rims? Or do I have to replace both rims and tires with a new set up? Help?

I saw a guy a couple of weeks ago selling tires mounted on rims for an N tractor for around 500.00 brand new including shipping. He was on e-bay under tractor tires, I believe he had more than one set. good luck

I have one(possibly two)rear 10 x 28 rims. I'll have to check on the one to see if the guy wants to sell it. I brought it home and snadblasted and painted it, haven't returned it yet. The other one is mine. email me

"She still sputters a bit under load" is generally an indication of "low sparkies". Most likely a bad frontmount ignition coil, replace it.

I hate CaCl! You will be very lucky to find any good used rear rims..... ..Dell

Since it sounds like I'm going to have to replace them, can I get away with the replacement rims with clamps and bolts or am I going to have to weld up some new ones to the hubs?

There are many places that sell rims for the N tractors, most tire shops that deal in large tires can get them. The rim bolts to the center disk and the replacment rims come ready to bolt on but they don't look the same as the originals and the originals are hard to come by. If you want to keep it original looking you need to start looking and maybe you can get lucky and find one or two if not just buy an aftermarket rim and remount your old tire if it is any good. good luck Greg NE
