Robert..... ..I'm sure you must be extreamly frustrated about your poor running tractor, well so am I. Unfortunately, you don't provide enuff vital information like, is it a frontmount or sidemount ignition system, 6 or 12 volt, for anyone to offer an eduicated guess or suggestion. I flunked mind reading, just ask my ex-wife..... ...respectfully, Dell

Robert,
It sounds like you may have a fuel flow problem and not an ignition problem. (Although I have installed some bad ignition parts that were brand new.) Check fuel flow then double check ignition. The main thing is to be patient and not get too frustrated. These old tractors can be finicky at times. On another subject, we share the same last name, Henson. HTH, Ricky Henson(Ga)

I would double/triple check your plug wires (order and condition). I know from experience that an 8n will start and run poorly (no power)when the 3 & 4 plug wires are crossed. Also make sure the actual wire in the plug wires is making good contact with the end clips (sometimes they get burnt down over time).

Hope that helps!
