I keep loosing a little coolant out of my overflow tube while Im driving. Is the coolant level supposed to be all the way ot the top? Also what is the correct direction to install the thermostat in the upper hose. I put the pointed end towards the engine block.I just seem to be getting short bursts of coolant flow while looking in the radiator. Have had it running for a over an hour witout any overheating problems. Is this normal. Its in the mid 40s here today.

I have read that the level should be just below the reach of your finger. I had the same experience and it worked. No more blow by. The manual says the bi-metal spring end points toward the engine. DON TX
