This is something I'm going to need as soon as I get my 8N running properly, because I have several dead trees and stumps to move. Now, I remember a while back, someone posted a picture of a drawbar, that went up under the tractor and had one hole in the rear. It might have been a Sears drawbar. I searched the archives and couldnt find it. I was wondering if anyone had this photo, or any information on this type drawbar, because this drawbar didnt interfere with the 3 point, as in I could have the drawbar on, and still use a 3 point implement.

You need the after market type, orignal Ford mounted same way underneeth but did not have the part that mounted around the PTO, they used the cross drawbar on the 3 point arms with the stay straps

Again look at John's web site - besides the foot throttle control - last time I looked he had a drawbar for sale also. Jim

So, 8N's didnt have factory drawbars? If I want one, I have to get aftermarket? Ford didnt make 8N drawbars?

My Ford / N H dealer gave me a complete unit for my 860 when he discovered it had been taken off when traded in before I bought it.
All parts had F / NH part numbers on them. Ford 8N sales brochure of 52 listed them as availabe both factory or dealer installed.

I purchased one of these last night at Fleet Farm; $61.00 out the door. Hope to see how well it works this weekend.

What you found is the after market type drawbar that can be used on the 8N, NAA(jubilee), and hundred series Ford tractors. It will not fit a 9N/2N as they do not have the bosses for mounting the bolts under the tractor. The 8N and later tractors were made to have a heavier area here so they could drill out for the bolt holes...
Good luck,
Tom-Pa

Is there any type of drawbar that can be mounted without drilling new holes in the N?

The one pictured in the above post is what you need for the 8n.It mounts to the existing holes on the bottom of your 8n housing. don
