First off, I have no intention of ever hand cranking my 8N. I simply intend to show my tractor a good bit, and would like it to be complete. Now, on to my question. In the front of my N, there is a slot in the grill for a hand crank. Now, where on the tractor would the crank be held when not in use? I would like to look and see if it's there. In the probability that it isnt, where could I acquire one, and the clamp to hold it when not in use? How much would this cost me, probably?

It will also sit real nice on top of the exhaust manifold. I've hand cranked the 9N a few times, it's not bad if it is only once every blue moon.

I love your enthusium, Isn't the internet a great source for N-Tractor information?

Well here's a couple of even better sources. Should be in every N-thusist's libarary.

"Origniality Guide" Ford N Series Tractors by Peterson & Beemer.
"Vintage Ford Tractors" by Pripps. I&T FO-4 Shop Manual
3729-52-C Ford 8N Operators Manual
Ford Tractor Master Parts Catalog 1939-1953

Readily avalilable at many of the fine sponsors of this great N-Board, Local Tractor Parts Emporiums, major book stores like Barns and Noble, Amazon.com, www.n-news.com, even Ford/New Holland fer peets stakes. Check 'em out..... .respectfully, Dell
