Hi all,I am reporting success in my 9N engine rebuild. Before the rebuild, compression was 45-35-45-95. oil pressure was 5 psi with 50 wt oil. YUK. NOW, 105-100-102-104 but the best part was that now the oil pressure is a rock solid 45 psi with 30 wt even when warmed up! So, here is a summary of what I ended up doing: Complete valve train, new valve seats, new main bearings, new rod bearings, rebuilt oil pump and replaced, pressure reg. in timing cover, new rings and a hone for the cylinders, new radiator, new sparkies (rotor, cap, points, condenser, wires, plugs) WOW, what fun. Now the old N has some kick to it. Carb adjustments are just where they should be and it sounds like a swiss watch. Idles smooth as silk. I swear I could get the front end off the ground if I tried. Lots of power now. I love it. Thanks to all who gave me advise on this big job. Dell, Bob, Claus. Others too. I am really happy with how it came out. It was really tough getting the work done and it took me almost 3 months. Along the way, I got pretty discouraged and almost bought a new block but I kept at it and I must say, it was worth it. I learned a lot about rebuilding these old N's and the satisfaction of hearing that old engine purr like a kitten really made all the hard work worth it. This sure is a fun hobby! thanks again and happy motoring to all. Joe
