Just wondering if anyone figured out how to get the wheels of an Ertl precision 8N with the least damage. Am getting ready to repaint some toys and would like to get the red right. Then the grey on the Franklin Jubilee next.

I broke the nylon steering gear trying to align the wheels, so it's in a cigar box in pieces...a sort of voodoo doll of my real 8N in pieces in the yard. Do you know how hard it is to find a replacement gear for the steering sector for the Precision? A case of art imitating life.
