I picked up three tools Sat. at a large "junk" sale. One is an s shaped wrench with Fordson on it. Looks like a double ended lug wrench, but smaller. Another is a FORD monkey wrench (not a pipe wrench). Ford script, about 12 inches long, but it has a square tang on the handle end. Any idea what thats for? The third is a plow wrench, is marked at 1 inch intervals, with a 3 and a 9 raised numeral. On the reverse side it has a circle with an "M" inside and the number 5 beside that. $3 for the three. Did I do good?
Thanks

I think the monkey wrench was for the Model T & A's if it has the tang on the end of the handle. The original N tractor adjustable wrench has no tang but a rounded handle end. Not sure what the tang was used for...anybody??? You got a very good deal if nothing else for the plow wrench especially if it has the FORD logo not FoMoCo and/or is good condition. I'm learning more about the N tools myself and came across this web page dedicated to Ford Tool Collectors- you can check out the NAFTCO web site yourself for all the info. They may have that Fordson wrench...good luck!

If the plow wrench has the Ford script or FoMoCo logos, then you have done very well indeed. If not, you have one of the generic versions, which usually sell for $10-15 on ebay. The Moore Drop Forge company made the same wrench for Ferguson and Massey Harris and a generic version with no tractor co name. (The M is Moore's logo.) Still not a bad deal.

The adjustable would usually bring $5-10 and the Fordson, depends on which one it is, condition, etc., but probably $10 up minimum.

Not bad for $3...

Thats the one Don, even down to the number! It is in better shape than the plow wrench. I am going to try some rust remover to clean out the writing on the plow wrench and see if it says Ford.
Thanks, to all

For $3.00 you ask if you done good(did well)? The wrench with the square tang on the end was designed to remove a square-recessed plug (from the differential?)on the Model T or A automobile. The tractor wrench did not have the square tang on the end. I guess you could grind it off. The Fordson wrench is a Fordson wrench and the plow wrench usually goes for anywhere between $20-40 on ebay.
