on ebay there is a frontmount distrubeter converted to a sort of side mount. just curious as to what you make of this. item # 1659844432. roperboy

. . . this appears to be a wartime 2N magneto drive assembly with a conventional distributor - of unknown provenance - cobbled onto it.

I'll guess that the magneto went west, and this was a po'boy solution. It's not a stock 8N distributor, for sure.
