Anyone familiar with the Tisco rebuilt 8N engines? Do the valve lifters have to be readjusted after break-in? I'm hearing a noise that almost sounds like exhaust leak (but it isn't) and it appears to be coming from the area of the lifter side covers. Engine doesn't skip, runs good and oil pressure is 50 cold,35+ when hot.It just doesn't sound as quiet as when first fired up. I was told they were set at Tisco factory? Clearance would be with engine cold, right?

Also could someone help me with a computer Q? how to go about posting a picture of my 8n on this web.I have some jpg's and can't seem to paste to this forum?

Don't your head bolts get retorqued after it runs for a short while? Seems like I read that? Might be an exhaust leak. DON TX

Rad,
To post a picture you first have to have a place on the internet to host your photo's. You should have some web space alotted from your internet service provider, usually 5-10 mb. There are a few free hosts still running, one is photopoint. Also one of our members has a server he has so graciously aloud us to use to host our tractor pic's. E-mail andy@charter.net with ----- --in the subject line for a password. After you get all that taken care of, you will transfer your photo's to the host using ftp software. Come back here paste your link in the (optional image url) box towards the bottom of the post page. When you preview your post your pic should be there, if not you will see a little red X, or nothing at all.
If you think the lifters are a little noisy check the clearance, they could have missed the adjustment some. You know the "oh heck, it is close enough" syndrome.

Hope this helps
Jim
