I have a question on front tires for a 49 8N. I may try a resoration on this tractor in the future. I think the three rib tires are what came on the 8N. Does anyone know the brand? I need new tires and might as well get the right thing. I just got a set of the correct rims from Ebay. Miller tire has the tires but they are made by Titan? should I get these are they close to original? Thanks.

The original equipment front tire on all 2N 8N and 9N Ford Tractors was the 19" single rib tire. They never came with 19" tire other than single rib. The 16" three rib was an option starting with the 8N. It was often but not always a Firestone. The most common of the 16" tires was the 5:50X16", and the 6.00X16" was also very popular especially on loader equipped tractors.

Firestone was OE. They still make a replacement.

Try "WWW.denmantire.com".

I just had to buy a tire to match an existing one. (The eldest sons friend hit it with a chain saw.)

They call it a three rib tire but it really looks like a 5 rib tire.

I just emailed the area rep and he emailed back a dealer in Lexington, KY who was most helpful and UPS'd it to me in Owensboro.
