I was just wondering how much it costs you guys to rebuild an engine assuming the block is good? For example using the kit sold on the store here?

How long does it usually take you guys to bang off a whole tractor? I'm only 17 but I'm pretty interested in this hobby. Is there any money to be had buying junkers, rebuilding them and selling them?

a guy i know is a retired tractor mechanic.he buys them dirt cheep and does a little spit polish and sometimes a rebuild.does one or two a month in an old poly-shed in his front yard.seems to get a pretty decent turn over on them.enough to pay bills and beers, anyway.

Well I have been working on mine as long as bg has been working on his. I have restored a NAA and another 8N. The NAA I did when I was just 19 with help from my brother in law. It took about a month of working on it in my spare time. My latest project has been in the works for three years, but I am paying cash for parts etc as I go. I suppose I have $1500 total in it so far. I believe that Mr Gaddis will have the record for length in his restoration if you can believe Dave#1 and Tyman his able assistant assemblers. You are onto a most rewarding and fun hobby and if you get good at it, a profitable one as well. good luck young man.
