Well, yesterday, my dad and I fired up the compressor to go air up my rear tire. Take off the valve cap, and there's no core in the valve! No wonder it wouldnt hold air for more than a day or so. So, today, we take the tire off and head to Co-op, with the horror stories about mounting tires yourself in my head. We got there, bought the tube, and decided that we could save the 20 bucks by doing it ourself. So, we get home, only to find that we had only one tire iron. A quick trip to the shed got two pry bars (or crow bars, depending on where you live.) Ok, now what do we use as a bead breaker? Yep, that Ford F250 did quite nicely. Drive up on the tire, break the bead, change the tube. No problems. We re- mount tire one, and decide to check the air pressure in rear tire two. Remove valve cap, press on tire guage, hmmm, why does it say no pressure? It's holding the tractor up...pull off the guage and out comes water. So, we remove tire two, and drain it. After about 15 minutes with the truck, we decide that we'll break the tire before the bead around the rim. Back to co-op we go, intending to have them mount the tire for us. Well, we got there, picked up the tube, and asked about having it installed. After explaining the problem, they broke the bead for us, free. So, tommorrow will be spent installing the tube and figuring out what radiator part I busted, hose or radiator. Now, a couple of people have asked questions about me. I guess I'm the youngest guy here, being 14 and homeschooled. I found my tractor locally, via this site. I posted in the classifieds that I wanted a Ford 8N in the West Tennessee area, didnt have to run, for under 1000. Guy emailed me, we went, looked at the tractor, and bought it.
