I have a rear tire that is almost ready to be replaced. I am really hoping that i can still use my old rims. I hate the way the new ones look on the N tractors. If my rims are shot i hope that i may be able to save them. My rims are 28 by 10. If i stay with that size what is the widest tire that is safe and practicle to run? Miller says 13.6 by 28. What have you found to work well? I work in sandy soil. It gets very wet at times, and i tear up the place. See my site at www.erols.com/hpmt Thanks in advance.

Hi Patrick,I'm not an expert, but have been told that when you replace one rear tire you need to replace the other. This keep's thing's balaced on the rear end.The other is that when you oversize to much, you create more torque to ground, thus roll over danger.Just a thought, most people like me,never even thought it mattered, before I was told.Hope this help's.Your friend,Jay 2N

I plan on doing both tires. I hog with a (too big) john deere mower, and pull a lot with the drawbar (big logs) so i understand what you mean about roll overs. Everyone please be carefull of front wheels that raise off the ground!

My 850 has 13.6-28 on 11" rims. I wouldn't have any reason to doubt the word of Miller Tire, though, they've been in the business a long time.
