PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey guys...I have tried everything and still can't get my 8N to run right..It started a few months ago when it wouldn't keep running...would try to start..sometimes it would run for a while and quit...I have put on a new ignition switch, points,condenser, rotor, changed out coil..made no difference and have tried starting fluid..no help...Please help! need an 8N fix real soon!! Thanks in advance for any ideas!

While you are checking the sediment bowl, take a couple inches of rubber tubing, and blow air back into the tank. Turn on the fuel, and you will see it comes out of a 1/4 inch port on the top. Hold the hose onto that, and blow. Temporary solution if there is junk in the tank. It'll get you out of the field. Bob

You may also want to check your gas line and sediment bowl.Their is another filter where the gas line goes into the carb.Alot of the time these are the culprit's.Gas tank can build up a lot trash over 50 plus year's.Hope this help's.Jay 2N

Also wanted to add that I had changed plugs, and when it does try to start it sounds like the starter kind of runs with the engine..like it doesn't have enough power to disengage the starter..? Thanks again for you help

I had a simular problem last year, came to discover the distibutor bushing was worn so bad it would not keep proper point clearance. After you set the points, rotate motor to next lobe and check clearance again. Do this on each lobe. If this does not prove to be your problem, you may have more serious motor/ valve problems.
