How thick is the steel that the dirt scoop bucket, and also the frame made from? Also is there a photo/sketch of the latch mechanism out there anywhere? Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy,
I gots me one of 'em. Probably the most bang for your buck on any implement you can get; Imagine filling a wheelbarrow in about 2 seconds. I call it a poor man's loader. It's reversible and has a trip lever to be able to dump by pulling a rope. Once the weights out of it it re-locks itself and ready for more work.
Check out the link below.

OK, Andy, It is dark in the tractor shed but as near as I can tell the dimensions on my King Kutter are as follows. Pan is 3/16" thick and has a blade welded to the cutting edge.
Bracing is 3/8" thick and 3" x 2" angle iron.
A couple braces are 1/2" x 3" .
I installed a foot long piece of square tubing over the trip arm to make it dump easier. It was about impossible to dump with a full load without the extension. If I were going to keep and use the scoop I would probably rig up a pully system to pull the latch handle. Suggest you do a search for scoops. Might try the implement forum on your search also.
Back to the KK. It is a decent unit. I've had mine several years but have not used it much since I got my loader tractor . It shows no signs of use. You can buy one for around $200. Probably get to see one by going to KK.com.

Hi Andy, I don't have any info on the dirt scoop, wish I did as I'd like to have one, but since my "local" tractor dealer is a four hour round trip and I don't have a sketch pad maybe someone on this board could give an idea as to the best scoop to buy. Have a good day,

have you thought about goint to your local ag/farm store and getting some literature for a new one?

maybe even take along a sketch pad to see the trip mechanism and take notes?
