Well, since we were leaving for a week, my father and I decided to move Howard, my 1948 8N, back behind the house. It started the first time I hit the button, and ran... It smoked, but I have decided to get an air cleaner assembly and change the oil and use it. I'm a little nervous about it, because a lot of water came from somewhere the first time I drove it, but the radiator is holding water well, so I'm not horribly worried. I need to replace my oil pressure gauge, and get an oil filler cap, to replace the cardboard tube the previous owners had there.

Rambling,

68 Mag

Most times when a radiator is filled to full it will spit out the extra, maybe this is what happened to yours. If you want to check it, fill it to the top and see if it does it again. Never seen a cardboard tube for an oil filler cap, seen some corn cobs though, must be the modern age. LOL.....

That must be it on the radiator, because we filled it until it overflowed before bringing it home. I think I'm gonna pick up an 11 hole drawbar next time I'm in TSC, so I can actually use 'Howard'.

68Mag,

Don't fill the raditor completely full. It will just blow back out. Fill it just above the core as you look inside. The water level will be about 6" below the neck.
