After bush hogging for a few hours this weekend in first gear. I returned back to the shed in 2 gear. I place the tractor in neutral but on letting out the clutch the tractor is still in 2 gear and when I swift into reverse the tractor boggs down and does not move as if its in 2 gears at one time. Any advise I have never been into the tranny.

I have had the same problem. Removing the shift cover and manually putting the shift rails back in place got me going again. I eventually cured the problem by cleaning the detent balls and installing new springs on the detent balls.
If you look in the service manual you can see what shift rails to muck with. I believe the one right on top is the first third rail... it will be pretty clear when you pop the cover off.

Hope this helps you out.

Sure sounds like it is still in second gear. You probably have some slop in your shifter that allowed it to stay in gear as the shifter moved back to nuetral. Gonna need to pull the top cover and fix it. Definitely get a manual first. Fo-4 I think, right, Dell?
