I need you to do me a favor. Since I have a load of scrap metal and a welder, I've decided to build one. Now, I need you to measure yours for me, if you would. I need the measurements of the 'square', the part that connects to the 3 pt, and the length of the 'forks'. Also, if it's made of angle iron, what size? I mean, from the center of the angle to the edge of the iron. Now, the shear pins that go in the lower 3 pt arms...how high up are they? The two tabs that go around the top link that the top link pin goes through...how far apart from each other are they? Thanks a bunch guys.

Thanks in advance,

68 Mag

P.S.

If anyone could provide me with a picture of theirs, that would be great.

Thanks again,

68 Mag

68Mag,

I built one and can get you a picture next week. (I loaned my digital camera out for the weekend) I built mine of light angle, 1" x 1" x 1/8" I think... and I kept it 5 ft wide, inside the tires because I take it in the woods to cut firewood. You don't want to get it too heavy if you have to drive up any hills as the front end gets pretty light. I use limiter chains to keep it about 6" or so off the ground. (I don't have a Zane thing.) But it sure is a useful implement and the kids love to ride in it. I'll take some measurements and try to get that picture to you next week... PJ

mine is homebuilt has a 72"x 48" deck with a 30" tall headboard frame verticals and forks are 3" channel iron with the square being made of 3" square tubing (most important part of your carry all to prevent twistng). The edge frame is 1 1/2 angle iron and floor is 2x6 treated. 3pt pins are 8" off ground and the top link connection is about 3". I have no idea what the measurements on a store bought would be. Makes for a nice weekend project and has a million uses
